PhDNet Doctoral Symposium

The Centre for Cultural Studies is delighted to welcome the 7th Cohort of PhDNet candidates in Graz from May 14 to May 16 for the 1st Doctoral Symposium of the European PhDNet. The symposium New Directions in Literary and Cultural Studies aims to provide our PhDs a platform where they can exchange ideas, present their projects, and receive feedback on their diverse and exciting dissertation projects. 

The conference comprises two thought-provoking keynotes: 

Professor Anne-Kathrin Reulecke’s Humanoid Narration in Contemporary Literature. Kazuo Ishiguro's novel Klara and the Sun

and

Professor Katharina Scherke’s Emotions of Temporal Orientation. A Sociology of Emotions’ Perspective on Nostalgia and Hope  

as well as multiple discussion sessions, a workshop on drafting and crafting a theory chapter, networking opportunities, as well as a few extracurricular treats, including the trip to the Castle Eggenberg.
