The Book Nook

The Centre for Cultural Studies is happy to invite you to our monthly book club, “The Book Nook,” starting on November 17th! Organised by two PhD students of the PhDNet Literary and Cultural Studies, Hanna Gottlieb-Zimmermann and Lisa Schattmann, the Book Club is specifically designed to create a space for discussing a variety of books, ranging from classics to contemporary literature.

When: November 17th, 6-7.30pm

What: Wonderful literature will be provided – as well as beverages and snacks!

The first book we will discuss is Maria Dahvana Headley’s The Mere Wife (2018), a Beowulf retelling set in contemporary America, full of mothers, monsters, and suburban housewives. For a summary of all the important facts, please download the flyer here.
