European PhDnet

With the doctoral program "Culture - Text - Action", the University of Graz joined the European PhDnet "Literary and Cultural Studies" in the winter semester 2013/14. The PhDnet currently comprises the following institutions: University of Giessen, University of Stockholm, Finnish Graduate School Helsinki, University of Bergamo, Catholic University of Lisbon, University of Warwick. International networking between the partner institutions is promoted through research collaborations and the regular organization of joint academic events (symposia, conferences, master classes, summer schools).

PhDnet members work on their dissertation projects at the University of Graz and at one of the six partner institutions. The projects are supervised at both universities and a binational doctoral degree is awarded upon completion of the doctoral process.

Events organized together with the partner institutions ensure strong networking among the international cooperation participants. The PhDnet curriculum offers a large number of courses that are specially tailored to the needs of international doctoral candidates. This course and study program supports and ensures the academic quality of the doctoral projects and at the same time enables completion of the projects within just three years.
